A Summer of All Contrasts
Thursday July 9th, 2009 by Biguine • Categories: Edito • 951 views •Every season has its own requirements.
Summer vacation, for example, is dedicated to everything having to do with well-being.
It could be a budding new romance, or one that comes to an end and leaves us with a sigh of relief (after all, it was really time to get rid of him!).
It could also be a trip to an exotic faraway land that incites the envy of all our friends, or just finding a small field in which to pitch a tent and relax in the tall grass.
It could be leaving the rest of world behind in the seclusion of a Corsican sheepfold or become a social butterfly while jet setting to parties all over the world.
The beach or the mountains; hot or cold.
The depths or the heights; an airplane or a boat.Â
A glittering gold bikini or a warm winter coat (faux fur, of course!). A book for summer reading, a dictionary-sized universal romance novel weighing almost three tons that often ends up as a Japanese headrest under a towel.Â
Lotion or oil; an oversized towel or a sarong. A helmet or a wide-brimmed straw hat.Â
Blond or brunette; a French manicure or red nail polish. Short or long, straight or frizzy…
We could go on forever but basically, this is summer vacation!
