Well, Musicale811, tell us a little more about yourself…
I am a seventeen year old high school student who is in love with fashion and music. When I grow up I want to be a singer, but fashon will always have a big influence in my life. Right now, I’m just having fun blogging and learning more about developing my style.

and about the city, you live
I live in a town right outside of New York City. It’s a really pretty place, with a lot of culture and diversity, like a smaller version of New York. I’ve lived here since I was four; before that I lived in New York and before that in Paris, where I was born.

What does it mean: ”I tasted the ambrosia of maddened impulse”-your headline on Modepass
The headline was taken from a quote by Charles Baxter, from his book The Feast of Love. I wanted it as my header because it’s a beautiful phrase, and to me it represents the creativity and passion I find in art and in clothing.  Fashion is like “the ambrosia”- it’s a drug that keeps me coming back for more.

Could you tell us more why you like blogging and what do you search inside them ?
I like blogging for a lot of reasons. I think it’s very interesting how people can make such strong connections over the internet, because of what we have in common.  The blogging community is so diverse and so international, and I’ve learned so much about different cultures through blogging.  It’s cool that you don’t have to be rich or famous or popular to become a successful blogger, you just have to have original ideas and the motivation to make your blog beautiful and interesting.

Has fashion a big place in your everyday life ?
Absolutely. I think about it all the time-probably more than I should! But since I was very young I have always been attracted to beautiful and interesting clothing and fashion photography- when I was young I used to watch old movies from the thirties and forties just to see the costumes the women wore.  I would sit right up close to the screen, and touch it because their glamour was so magical to me.

Can you describe your personal style ?
My personal style is very eclectic.  I wouldn’t say that I am girly or rock n’ roll, or trendy…I like to mix things up depending on how I feel in the morning.  For example, I would mix a ruffled skirt with my doc martens and a woolly cap, or wear ripped jeans with high heels and Chanel chains.
Who is your fashion icon ? (fashion designer, artist, journalist, blogger, star, your mother…) ?
I don’t have one fashion icon, I admire many peoples’ personal style. I am inspired by Elizabeth I, Greta Garbo, Harajuku teens, Mary-Kate Olsen, and of course other bloggers!

What is your favorite fashion or beauty ad ?
I really love the Dolce and Gabbanna ad from a few season ago with the Marie Antoinette-era clothing. I also love almost every ad for Loree Rodkin jewelry.

What is your favorite period – fashionly speaking ?
That’s difficult! I would have to say the Elizabethan Era was a truly incredible and visionary time for fashion.

And now, start of, what we call, in french, a chinese portrait, a Portrait chinois.

If you were a fashion icon? I would be a flapper. They were so free and mysteriously beautiful. Or maybe I would be Ginger Rogers-she was exquisite.

A clothe? If I were an item of clothing I would be a beautiful, timeless evening dress that was passed down from generation to generation- because fashion should be shared.

An accessorie? A shoe of course! I would totally want to be a pair of those fetishy high heels. They fascinate me.

A fashion designer? If I had to choose a fashion designer from the past, I would pick Chanel, who else? But if I had to chose one from today I would say either Olivier Theyskens or Limi Feu. They both have really original visions and new ways of making women look stunning and interesting.

A jewel? A sapphire.

A secret to become a stylish girl? Don’t be afraid to dress differently than what people consider normal. Honestly, many people dress pretty badly and are too afraid to be anything other than safe. If you wear something out of the ordinary, do it with great confidence and people will always respond positively.

Did you play on Paris Life Style on Modepass, what do you think about it ?
Yes, I just entered the other day! I think it’s such a cool idea, and I would lovelovelove to win, but I don’t think I will. My page isn’t very interesting or unique compared to the other girls’ :) Oh well…

Do you want to add something personal in this interview (a word, drawing, writing ,….) ?

Here is a quote by Kate Chopin:

“…To be an artist includes much. One must possess many gifts -absolute gifts- which have not been acquired by one’s own effort. And, moreover, to succeed, the artist must possess the courageous soul.”

“What do you mean by the courageous soul?”

“Courageous, ma foi! The brave soul. The soul that dares and defies.”
