Thursday February 5th, 2009 by modepass • Categories: USA • 816 views •Well, Caffeincat, tell us a little more about yourself…
My name is Yuki, and I am a college student and a freelance illustrator in San Diego, California.
On modepass my name is caffeinecat. Feel free to leave me a note!
I also have a blog at www.caffeinecat.com covering fashion, art, design and daily life.
Fashion has always been a part of creative portal for me, it was never about looking good for others, but satisfying as a curious dresser.
Could you tell us more why you like blogging and what do you search inside them ?
Bloggers can blog whatever they like: it’s given voice. Whether it is an introversion or extraversion, it’s personal but also sharable.
I love blogging not only because I can share with readers but also for myself to look back and see where my mind and body has been through.
I believe the readers can always find some sort of expansion in their hearts when they read about other people, and that is all is what I am hoping to deliver from my blog.
Has fashion a big place in your everyday life ?
Fashion has always played a big part of my life! Regardless of being raised in USA, being close to Japanese culture has played a huge role in my teenage life, and learning about fashion of one of the most unique culture inspired me to challenge on different type of garments to see how visually aesthetic it can be.
Can you describe your personal style ?
My personal style is a girl in life: to love, hate from loving:
Feminine dress with combat boots, sexy leather skirt with worker’s button up shirt, vintage with new piece…. it’s all sweet and bitter.
Who is your fashion icon ? (fashion designer, artist, journalist, blogger, star, your mother…)
Edie Sedgwick, Audey Hepburn, Nanaho Kodaka, Nobuhiko Kitamura, Alyasha Owerka-Moore, Anh Q., Of course my Mother
And any girls who have brilliant ideas, and fascination with fashion and life style are always an inspiration to me.
What is your favorite fashion or beauty ad ?
Shiseido Majolica Majorca website:
It has a story in every series. My favorite is “La Cantatrice” and “June Bride Play”
What is your favorite period – fashionly speaking ?
80s for starting retrospective style! I personally think they experimented and revived many time periods. Rachel from the movie Bladerunner played in 1984 reminisces the 40s, Band Stray Cats made teenagers face towards the 50s. The Specials made 60s MOD revival. If it wasn’t for the 80s, vintage would still be sleeping in our storages.
And now, start of, what we call, in french, a chinese portrait, a Portrait chinois.
If you were a fashion icon? If I was a fashion icon, Audrey Hepburn for showing personality.
A clothe? If I was a clothe, generous Blank Tshirt
An accessory? If was a accessory, tiny pendant close to your heart.
A fashion designer? If I was a fashion designer, Nobuhiko Kitamura from Hysteric Glamour for promoting parts of culture that really mattered.
A jewel? If I was a jewel, rouge ruby , intense and vivid at heart.
A secret to become a stylish girl? Having love and romance is what keeps a girl stylish!
Did you play on Paris Life Style on Modepass, what do you think about it ?
