Well, my name is Janet Nguyen and I reside in San Jose, California. I’ve lived here my whole life and I don’t think I could feel anymore at home anywhere else.

What does it mean:”It only takes one.”-  your headline on Modepass

My headline, “It only takes one.” is one of the quotes I firmly believe in. Mostly, because I think that a single person is capable of so much. As well as putting it into perspective as you are in control of your own life, it’s all a matter of how you want to live your life and how you want it to be. Also, it can be viewed in a way that one significant person in your life can change it dramatically.

Could you tell us more why you like blogging and what do you search inside them ?

I like- love blogging. In a sense, it is a diary/journal whatever you may call it. It helps you document your thoughts and it’s nice to see how far you’ve come. I’ve always been fond of seeing myself and others grow from experiences in their blogs. It’s really refreshing!

Has fashion a big place in your everyday life ?

I believe fashion takes a big role in my life. Even though, I’m currently enrolled at a university it isn’t hard for me to express myself through what I wear, because frankly you can wear whatever you like without being judged by others. I also see fashion as art and an outlet for your creativity. So my choice of outfits are ways I can in a sense express my creativity and love for fashion.

Can you describe your personal style ?

My personal style changes from time to time, but I do have to say I’ve grown very fond of comfortable and dressing out of the ordinary in regular places. I try my best to add my own touch to the common trends that float around high fashion and magazines. Because I think style is the way you portray those trends, not copying them entirely. It’s what makes your outfits the more unique.

Who is your fashion icon ? (fashion designer, artist, journalist, blogger, star, your mother…) ?

Though it may be utterly overrated, I am still fond of the Olsen twins. Their ever changing styles and wardrobes- to say the least leave me speechless, only wanting more. I love how effortless their outfits look, yet look so great.

What is your favorite fashion or beauty ad ?

Favorite fashion or beauty ads have to either be Gap, due to it’s basic and jolly mood. Or the runway pictures of Alexander Wang’s F/W 08′- I’m still in love with it.

What is your favorite period – fashionly speaking ?

My favorite fashion period would have to be either the 70’s - though the fads of feathers and fringe are back. It’s that look of being comfortable in your own skin as well that makes me all warm and tingly in side.
