Unicorngirl’s interview
Tuesday February 24th, 2009 by modepass • Categories: USA • 637 views •Well, Unicorngirl, tell us a little more about yourself…
I’m an eighteen year old girl originally from Orange County, California. I moved to Kentucky a few years ago, and the lack of excitement fueled my need to entertain myself through my own means: that being photography, filming, and painting. While I want to be in the film industry, I do enjoy photography because I view it as a kind of “still form” of filming; you can capture a facial expression, a moment, or an idea much easier through photography than you can through film.
and about the city, you live
Louisville, Kentucky is definitely not a great vacation spot, nor is it that exciting for its own residents. I live in a quiet, bucolic setting just outside of the city, and it takes me some time to get anywhere because I’m so far away from Louisville society. But the country does have its upsides, as its serene and great to photograph, and that’s what I love about it.
What does it mean: “”Look through a camera lense. See how life changes?”" - your headline on Modepass ?
It’s been my favorite personal quote for about five years now. As someone who spends a lot of time looking through a camera lense (whether that be film OR photography), it seems to be the case that when you look through lenses, the world changes. You notice things you might not have noticed before; things that would make a great photograph, or meaningless objects that now have some sort of value. When looking through a camera, I view things a different way that I would when staring at them directly.
Could you tell us more why you like blogging and what do you search inside them ?
I like blogging because it gives people something interesting to read or look at, and I like reading/searching them because it gives ME something interesting to read or look at. It’s a great way to see different people’s looks or what they think about things, and I really enjoy that.
Has fashion a big place in your everyday life ?
Yes, definitely. I’m a huge fan of Japanese street fashion and Victorian era clothing. I’ve taken up sewing classes just to learn how to make my own Victorian clothing, and I’m quite proud of the results. Fashion is just incredibly FUN, with so many opportunities for ideas and a sense of accomplishment when you’ve created an original style.
Can you describe your personal style ?
For lack of a better word, I’d describe it as lacy and frilly. I’m a huge fan of lace and frill, and any rose ornament/accessory I can find is immediately on my person. I like interesting necklaces, professional, yet simple looking outfits, and teased hair.
Who is your fashion icon ? (fashion designer, artist, journalist, blogger, star, your mother…) ?
I REALLY love Doedeereblogazine.com. Xenia’s blog is interesting to read, she has great fashion photos, and awesome makeup tips. I read her stuff religiously.
What is your favorite fashion or beauty ad ?
Anything by H&M or Sephora.
What is your favorite period - fashionly speaking ?
Victorian era, of course! No better time than to find lace and frill.
And now, start of, what we call, in french, a chinese portrait, a Portrait chinois.
If you were a fashion icon? Mary Kate or Ashley Olsen.
a clothe? A lacy top.
an accessory? A rose clip.
a fashion designer? Mary Quant.
a jewel? Diamond.
a secret to become a stylish girl? Confidence!
Did you play on Paris Life Style on Modepass, what do you think about it ?
No, I did not.
Do you want to add something personal in this interview (a word, drawing, writing ,….) ?
